The track Elision is part of Halina Rice's 2022 album by the same name released under Injazero Records. I was commissioned to envision a visualizer that would also be used as show visuals. The track is a contemplative blend of synth and ambient sounds that provides a pleasant break from the beat-driven IDM nature of the album. The challenge was to interpret the emotive and reflective qualities of the music into engaging visuals. Gently panning stock footages form the base of the video over which generative effects were applied. The result is a journey through a known world seen from an unseen lens.
The effects were applied generatively in real-time using TouchDesigner(a node-based programming environment).
