Fracture is a mellow track in Halina Rice’s 2022 album Elision that merges brilliant synth sounds in an ambient composition. The visualizer uses floating cubes that respond to the rolling synth sound. The dramatic lighting encapsulated by the cubes reflects the warm qualities of the music. It was also essential to keep the visual composition relatively simple to complement the minimal nature of the track arrangement. The cubes' motion was designed to evoke anticipation, switching scenes with the rousing synth bass.
The visualizer was developed in TouchDesigner(a node-based programming environment) and composited in After Effects with a relatively quick turnaround.
