Kitchen.Video is a new-age, multi-disciplinary video lab founded by director Kaushik Sarkar. This animation was commissioned as part of their launch. Kitchen being a multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary lab, the animation needed to reflect their spirit of experimentation and discovery. The key inspiration for the sequence was the Kitchen logo, which plays with perspective. The animation uses the same perspective and divides the lettering into a grid that propagates like branches in space, a metaphor for the experimental nature of the venture.
The artwork was created generatively using NodeBox, an open-source node-based programming environment.
